A few hundred feet above one of the most beautiful lakes in Britain, The Samling manages to combine all the virtues of a classy Lakeland 'hotel in the country' with the pedigree of a top restaurant.

It's said that Wordsworth paid his rent here and there is still much to enjoy if you fancy strolling through woodland, fields and landscaped gardens on the 67-acre estate.
