Sardo is on a mission to promote the cooking of the Mediterranean island outpost of Sardinia, and it works its magic in a light, airy dining room with fashionable artwork on the walls, groovy light fittings and bare minimalist touches, just off Tottenham Court Road.
The Sardinain presence shows itself in thin, brittle carasau bread, mosciame di tonno (sun-dried fullet of tuna), bottarga (dried mullet roe) and monthly specials like quails glazed with balsamic dressing and served with prunes.
