Shell Bay Seafood Restaurant Review

Arrive by boat and anchor-up, or take the car across the Sandbanks Ferry to reach this sunny restaurant/ bar on the shores of Pool Harbour, looking out towards Brownsea Island.

Local seafood is naturally one of the kitchen's main themes, and the menu straddles everything from a platter of Poole rock oysters and crevettes from the English Channel to baked fillet of brill on swede and celeriac purée with roasted pepper oil, seared fillets of red mullet on stir-fried vegetables with hoisin sauce, and simply grilled whole lemon sole with hand-cut chips.

Meat eaters and vegetarians also get a look in with roast leg of Dorset lamb or pappardelle with wild mushrooms, rocket and Parmesan, while puddings might include crème brûlée or chocolate and mint pannacotta.
