Founded as a Thameside waterman's inn around 1786, The Ship Inn by Wandsworth Bridge is still in the business of providing hospitality although it now attracts crowds from near and far. It is famed for its vast outdoor bar and terrace, hidden sunken garden and daily barbecues ('whenever the sun comes out or the temperature creeps above 17 degrees'), but things are equally appealing indoors.
The Ship has returned to Young's Brewery since the departure of licensees Charles and Linda Gotto, but the current regime still offers a great choice of interesting food and drink.
