Scott and Anne Baxter's informal, family hotel is tucked away in a quiet residential area close to Strathaven town centre. Inside, the restaurant wears an up-to-the-minute, minimalist set of clothes and there's an airy conservatory overlooking the garden.

The kitchen does its best to follow the seasons, so expect earthy game dishes in winter (roast venison with black pudding and caramelised turnips, for example).
