A mammoth collection of seafaring and nautical memorabilia sets the scene at the highly renowned Spyglass Inn, which overlooks the English Channel on Ventnor's Esplanade. Built around 1830 - and one of the oldest buildings in the neighbourhood - it once gained infamy as a smugglers' haunt, although things are all above board these days.
Given the location, it's no surprise that fish is the big deal here, with Ventnor crabs and lobsters playing a starring role, along with other seasonal and year-round seafood delights.
