The Star at Tytherley Review
Tucked away alongside a quiet country road between Romsey and Salisbury, the seventeenth-century Star Inn is a picture of pastoral Englishness. It holds pride of place in the Test Valley's smallest village, directly opposite the local cricket pitch (where games are played each week during the summer).
This is a favourite refuelling point for walkers, keen anglers and real ale buffs, who congregate for pints of locally brewed Ringwood beers and an excellent choice of upmarket food.
