One of Southwold's most distinctive buildings, Sutherland House has been around - in parts, at least - since 1455, and it still looks the part with its low-beamed rooms, ornate plastered ceilings, massive fireplaces and timbers. Since taking over, Peter and Anna Banks have given this old holidaymakers' favourite a real shot in the arm and Southwolds only fish restaurant has become a popular venue serving local food for local people.
This gem of a neighbourhood restaurant has been beautifully restored with contemporary fabrics, funky light fittings and abstract seaside artworks.
