Tan-y-Foel Country House Review

The 'house under the hillside', Tan-y-Foel is a delightful sixteenth-century country hotel nestling in a valley within Snowdonia National Park. Since 1991, the Pitmans have been running the place in a highly but personable professional manner as their 'little piece of Welsh heaven'.

Hidden away down narrow winding lanes amid eight acres of grounds, it is an entrancing retreat, with natural colours and oriental artefacts creating just the right mood.

Janet Pitman's short fixed-price dinner menu changes every evening and offers a choice of just two dishes at each stage.
