In the heart of the Derbyshire countryside, the stone-built Tavern at Tansley is a fiercely loyal set-up, supporting its local producers, dispensing traditional beers and ensuring its punters are entertained with everything from wine tastings to live jazz. The menu is refreshed every three months to take account of the seasons and available produce: its aim is to offer a choice of 'English dishes influenced by world wide culture and creative flair'.
