Thirty six is Nigel Mendham's new restaurant set in the distinguished Duke's hotel which is located in a quiet courtyard in St James's. The name was chosen for a number of reasons, one because the number of the entrance is 36, as well as being the number that represents good luck in Chinese astrology and lastly because of its association with the 'Solar Square' of ancient Western tradition, in which it represents the sun, and warmth.
