Sharing and gazing are openly encouraged at this enterprising café-style venue in the Brecon Theatre. The owners support local and organic produce in a big way, making use of Brecon venison, artisan Welsh cheeses and all manner of produce from growers in the area; the kitchen is also keen on hot-smoking and oak-roasting.
All dishes are roughly the same price, whether it's deep-fried Penclawydd cockles with salsa and crispy bacon, slow-roast ribs of Tamworth pork in hoisin marinade with chilli noodles, or goats' cheese and caramelised onion tartlets.
Added to this are freshly baked breads, colourful salads (chorizo, Feta, sun-blush tomatoes and olives, for example), plates of charcuterie and desserts ranging from chocolate espresso crème brûlée to local ice creams.
