Tolbooth Restaurant Review

Stonehaven's oldest building – once a prison and excise house – is the setting for Robert Cleaver's first-floor seafood restaurant. Traditional whitewashed walls contrast with the light contemporary fittings, and the views over the harbour are hard to beat on a fine day.

Fish from the local boats is the kitchen's stock-in-trade, and it's worth checking the board for the 'day's catch' – some of which is still landed virtually outside the restaurant door.
