Situated just north of the town, this handsome country inn is reckoned to be 'one of the best in this part of Suffolk,' according to one UK Restaurant Guide user. It's run by a caring and experienced family team, who have developed al fresco areas at the front and back of the pub, as well as a light airy restaurant with a vaulted ceiling.
Triple-decker sandwiches, soups and pub standards are offered at lunchtime, while the evening menu promises more sophisticated dishes along the lines of Suffolk ham hock terrine with Caesar dressing, pan-fried organic salmon with cherry tomato, shallot and oregano relish, and Stilton-crusted beef with wild mushroom jus.
