'Uli' apparently means 'tenacity' - an apt moniker for this affable neighbourhood restaurant, which has stayed the course on All Saints Road while many of its near neighbours have fallen by the wayside. It helps that owner Michael Lin is always on hand to greet, chat and suggest good dishes from the kitchen's lengthy repertoire.

The décor is a no-nonsense blend of pleasant modern cream walls and oriental artefacts, with a delightful garden beyond the dining room.
