Urban Bar & Brasserie Review
Following on from the success of Gamba and other ventures, Alan Tompkins and executive chef Derek Marshall are making their mark in new city-centre premises that were once home to the Bank of England's Scottish HQ (the manager's office is now a swish private dining room).
The bar 'looks good enough to live in' and the décor evokes something of a gentlemen's club, while the brasserie itself conjures up the mood of a '30s Manhattan hangout with glittering mirrors, vivid artwork, glass lamps and dark panelling.
