Established in the 1840s to tie in with the arrival of the Brecon to Merthyr Railway, this country inn-with-rooms stands opposite what was the old station and yard. Today's travellers, however, are more likely to be hungry and thirsty tourists exploring the Brecon Beacons or the nearby Brecon Canal.
The pub has been extended and sympathetically refurbished over the years, but the atmosphere and welcome are as genuine as ever.
