Vujon Review

The Sanskrit word 'vujon' translates roughly as 'gourmet dinner', which gives some idea of what to expect at this ultra-plush Indian restaurant established in 1990 on Newcastle's thriving Quayside.

Everything about the place oozes class, care, richness and opulence; service steers a professional course thanks to a brigade of waiters in colourful waistcoats

There's plenty on the menu to satisfy the traditionalists, including mixed pakoras with sweet-and-sour sauce, chicken tikka and prawn bhuna, but it's worth investigating some of the more unusual regional specialities.
