Internationally famous, The Whitechapel Gallery is a touchstone for contemporary art so when the Dining Room opened in 2009 it was no surprise that equally high standards were set on the catering front and it wasn't long before its praises were being sung by the likes of A. A. Gill at The Times, John Walsh at The Independent and Faye Maschler of the Evening Standard.
The kitchen is now under the consultation of Angela Hartnett and Smart Hospitality who together with her head chef, Emma Duggan works closely with the Whitechapel Gallery chefs to produce carefully crafted British cuisine.
The menu is 'short and sweet' but changes and evolves on a regular basis reflecting the best of the season.
