The French find it easy to produce excellent food at affordable prices and so do the chefs at the famous Hare and Hounds overlooking Claygate village green in the l'auberge restaurant; eating here is a truly Gallic experience.
This is the latest opening for l'auberge - a small group of French eateries in the county that are now part of the new generation of pub/restaurants; located in beautiful, traditional English pubs, they add a touch of French chic to proceedings and set out to recreate the informal, family hospitality of a genuine village bistro.
Quality food in a bright and relaxed south of France atmosphere is served under the watchful eye of head chef Jissin Jonny.
